We’ll have some wonderful creativity on the 17th! The Western Stage team is helping guide us in theater as resistance. Before we walk to the Drop Box, there will be a short performance of “It Can’t Happen Here–Again!,” which is based on author Sinclair Lewis’ 1935 political satire and dystopian novel that we hope will inspire you to VOTE EARLY!

• After rallying, walk together to the Monterey Ballot Drop Box or drive to a drop box in your community- Drop Box Locations

We Showed up and Stopped the FLOCK Contract. Now Show Up TODAY and Speak Out in Opposition to a Drone Contract.

Three weeks after the Board voted to remove the Sheriff’s Flock cameras, the Sheriff’s Office wants $3,034,343 with Axon Enterprises for drones, retroactive to Sept 1, 2026 and running to Aug 31, 2034. The fleet would grow from 3 to as many as 18, including thermal X10s, indoor R10s and a long-range Skydio F10 “Drone as First Responder” system that is still in development. Costs jump from about $115,000 a year to about $465,000 a year in 2028, and only year 1 is funded (a $50,000 donation plus asset forfeiture). The Sheriff’s drone policy (Policy 340) is a generic Lexipol template: it lets drones record homes and yards with a warrant or “exigent circumstances” and sets no limit on how long footage is kept, while the quote buys unlimited Axon cloud storage.
